However, Europe does not try to compete with US economically they try and do create liasons with other countries based on this view point, when negotiating with other countries which are for the most part in the developing world, "Who would you prefer us or the Americans?" and since the US is often viewed unfavorably in these countries that is enough to convince the beauracracy of these nations to side with Europe. And since a lot of these nations have past colonial ties with Europe, even if they too are viewed unfavarobly, they are still seen as closer to them than the US. Economically I prefer the laissez-faire method rather than the government meddling, but I do understand the need for certain government regulations. |
